ABHI Board of Directors 2024 Election

Joining the ABHI Board of Directors offers you with a unique chance to play a pivotal role in steering the direction of our industry, shaping future health initiatives, and delivering significant impact for the membership and the wider HealthTech sector. Details on the nomination process are as follows:

 

2024 Nomination Process
A member may nominate only one individual. The responsibilities, profile of candidates and criteria for nomination are set out in the role description.

Nominations should be submitted to angela.jeffery@abhi.org.uk, by email, using this nomination form. These will need to be received by 5pm, Monday 29th April, 2024.

A nomination must be accompanied by a statement in the format in the nomination form. This should summarise relevant experience, reasons for candidature and intended contribution.

The candidacy must be supported by the employer, and the nomination form duly authorised by an appropriate internal individual. Candidates who are business owners, and as such the most senior person in their organisation, should specify this.

Electoral Colleges
For the purposes of nominating Directors to the Board, membership is divided into two Electoral Colleges based on 2024 membership declarations, as below.

Term
Elected Directors will serve a maximum of two terms of three years each. After their first term each Director will stand for re-election for their second term provided they continue to meet the criteria. Existing Directors, who have already served one term (extended due to Covid) from 2020-2024, are permitted to stand again for election, 2024-2027. 


Key Dates

  • 21st March - Call for nominations issued.
  • 29th April, 5pm - Deadline for receipt of completed nomination forms.
  • 6th May - Members provided with a list of the candidates and personal statements, along with details of the voting process*.
  • 5th June - Deadline for submission of votes.
  • 17th June - Results announced – via email to all members.
  • 24th June - AGM to ratify new board members.

Newly elected Directors will be expected to attend the Board of Directors meeting scheduled for 4th July, 2024 in London, and a dinner the evening before on 3rd July.

 

*Voting Process

  1. Each voting Member shall be entitled to cast one vote for each candidate that it wishes to elect to the Board from the nominations of each of the Electoral Colleges up to the maximum number of vacancies for each of the Electoral Colleges.  
  2. This means that each voting Member casts:
    1. a maximum of fifteen votes to recruit the fifteen directors from the pool of candidates from the first Electoral College, and
    2. a maximum of five votes to recruit the five Directors from the pool of candidates from the second Electoral College.
  3. ABHI’s Articles of Association provide for proxy voting. A voting member may offer their proxy vote to a Board committee comprised of the ABHI executive directors.
  4. Proxy voting will be on the same basis as explained in point 2 above.
