Ravi Chana

Ravi Chana is Executive Director for Diagnostics at ABHI, having joined the organisation in September 2025. He leads ABHI’s diagnostics and genomics portfolio, working closely with member companies, the NHS, government, academia and research bodies to shape policy, support innovation adoption, and strengthen collaboration across the life sciences ecosystem.
Ravi brings more than 30 years’ experience across diagnostics, medical technologies, research and life sciences policy. Prior to joining ABHI, he held senior leadership roles at Roche Diagnostics, most recently as UK & Ireland Business Development Lead, where he was responsible for developing strategic partnerships and supporting the uptake of innovative diagnostic technologies. His earlier career includes roles as a HealthTech specialist within the Department for Business and Trade, contributing to the UK’s international life sciences growth agenda, and six years at the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), supporting research delivery and industry engagement across the NHS.
Alongside his ABHI role, Ravi contributes extensively to national research, innovation and health strategy through a number of advisory and steering groups with DHSC, OLS, Universities and Charities.
Ravi is a pharmacology graduate and has a long‑standing interest in the role of diagnostics in enabling earlier diagnosis, improving patient outcomes, and supporting more efficient and resilient health systems. At ABHI, he represents the diagnostics industry across a wide range of policy, research and system‑level forums, ensuring industry expertise is effectively aligned with NHS priorities and national health missions.
