UK - New Zealand Trade Deal is Announced

A trade deal has this week been agreed between the UK and New Zealand, which follows advanced free trade agreements already struck with Australia and Japan. Details on the announcement are available here, with the agreement in principle published overnight

The deal with New Zealand, though small in relative terms, is significant given our ongoing interest in the wider Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), which represents 13% of global GDP.

The next milestone in this trade deal will be the publication of the full legal text, and in advance of this, colleagues at the Department for International Trade have published a list of key benefits from the agreement.
