Health Innovation Network launches international growth bursary for health innovators in ABHI partnership

Topic : News and Press, International Type : Press Release

The Health Innovation Network is launching a new international growth bursary to support two eligible health innovators currently working with the Network to participate in ABHI’s 2027 US or Middle East Accelerator programmes.

This year, the Health Innovation Network is partnering with the ABHI on these programmes. In addition to supporting the delivery of the programmes, the bursary will provide financial support for up to a third of the cost of the programme, capped at £10,000 per company, helping selected innovators access practical market insight, international trade missions, expert support and introductions to healthcare leaders and commercial partners.

The opportunity is intended for companies already supported by the Health Innovation Network, particularly those working with two or more local health innovation networks, and ready to explore growth in either the US or Middle East market.

The ABHI international accelerators have a long and successful track record of supporting UK health tech businesses into the US and Middle East markets. Collectively, ABHI’s Accelerator Programmes have supported more than 150 companies, generated over $150 million in new business and helped secure more than 80 clinical trials and pilots.

Participants in the ABHI’s programmes benefit from three international trade missions, expert-led learning and direct introductions to healthcare providers, senior decision-makers, innovation leaders and potential commercial partners. They also receive ongoing support from ABHI, its in-market teams and an established international partner network.

The programmes are designed for innovative UK medical device, diagnostic and digital health companies that are generating revenue or backed by investment and are ready to develop opportunities overseas.

The US Accelerator will connect companies with leading healthcare ecosystems in Florida, Arizona, California and states across the East Coast. Participants will meet health systems, providers, payers, innovation hubs and commercial partners that can support their US growth.

The Middle East Accelerator will include missions to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, enabling companies to build relationships with healthcare providers, government organisations, innovation leaders and commercial partners driving healthcare transformation across the region.

Applications close on 29 October 2026 and the selection process will involve health innovation experts and leaders from across both the ABHI and the Health Innovation Network.

If you are currently working with at least two of the 15 local health innovation networks in England and ready to scale internationally, companies interested in Health Innovation Network International Growth Bursary for the ABHI’s programmes should apply via the Health Innovation Networks website.

Any company interested in the ABHI’s programmes but are not currently support by the Health Innovation Network can apply for the programmes here: US Accelerator Programme and the Middle East Accelerator Programme.
