The UK HealthTech industry continues to demonstrate huge potential, both in driving innovation within the NHS and in contributing to economic growth. However, without targeted, appropriate support, the sector risks falling short of delivering its full value to patients, clinicians, and the economy.

This is the focus of our latest report, Transformation and Growth: The HealthTech Effect, which brings together previously separate ABHI policy materials into a comprehensive resource for policymakers.

Our recommendations focus on:

• Appointing a HealthTech Champion to coordinate policy and ensure a more nuanced understanding of the sector.
• Building a world-leading regulatory system to eliminate uncertainty and accelerate growth.
• Professionalising adoption by increasing support for translational research and addressing NHS capital funding challenges.
• Delivering secure and competitive data infrastructure to enable HealthTech companies to develop evidence-based solutions for major health challenges.
• Growing UK-based HealthTech through targeted support in access to finance, manufacturing capabilities, and export growth.

The publication also spotlights subsector opportunities that can drive growth in UK HealthTech and showcases case studies of technologies that align with the NHS’s three shifts: Hospital to Community, Analogue to Digital, and Treatment to Prevention.
