Government Contingency Planning for Providers
Following my communication to you on Friday 7th December, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care has also written to health and care providers to update them on the Government's preparations for a potential no-deal Brexit. More detail can be read here.
Whilst providing detail on other important areas, such as workforce, research and clinical trials, the letter is explicit in stating that providers should not be stockpiling additional medical devices and clinical consumables beyond their "business as usual" stock levels. If you are receiving requests contrary to this guidance, please let us know.
Should this approach from Government change, we will alert you as a matter of urgency.
