'Big bets' are being placed on life sciences and new technologies to improve health, drive economic growth and transform the NHS over the next decade. These include using AI to improve productivity and patient choice; genomics and predictive analysis; wearable technologies and robotics; developments in diagnostics and new medicines; and further investment in joined-up data.
These shifts are exciting but highly ambitious. Together, they promise significant change, but their impact depends on whether and how they are adopted and delivered in practice. This is reflected in the ambitions set out in the 10 Year Health Plan, the Life Sciences Sector Plan, and the emerging AI adoption agenda for the sector and for the NHS more widely.
This conference focuses on that challenge exploring what it takes to embed innovation into everyday NHS services, and how to turn ambition into meaningful impact for people and communities.
It will bring together people from across health and care, industry, research and the voluntary sector to consider how these changes could transform health systems and society. We will explore the impact of developments such as a move towards population health genomics and new medicines on care pathways, workforce roles and models of delivery.
We will also ask who is shaping the future of health, how innovation moves from discovery to practice, and how far change will be driven by consumer expectations and behaviour.
