The opportunity for ABHI members

Meet staff at every level: trust leaders, frontline, digital teams and operational decision-makers from one of the NHS's newest integrated trusts and demonstrate how your innovation can support its ambitions.

This showcase provides ABHI members with a unique opportunity to engage directly with stakeholders from across the trust at a formative stage in its development, when strategy is being built, and future approaches to care delivery, service redesign and technology adoption are actively being considered.

The trust is looking to explore solutions that address current operational and clinical challenges, while also creating a smarter hospital environment and introducing innovative approaches that can bring care closer to home.

Bringing tech directly to the NHS

Elevate is a programme of health tech showcases bringing health tech directly into the NHS.

For NHS teams, it exposes leaders and the workforce to the art of the possible: with tech aligned with organisational priorities.

For tech suppliers, it literally opens trust doors to walk through. Access to execs, senior leaders, clinicians and operational teams in their environment.

Innovation areas of interest

North Cheshire and Mersey NHS Foundation Trust has identified a broad range of innovation priorities and is particularly interested in solutions that support:

  • Care closer to home: Tech that enables patients to be safety supported outside hospital and reduces avoidable attendance/admissions. Eg: remote monitoring, home diagnostics, remote monitoring, wearables, virtual consultations, supported discharge, hospital at home.
  • Smart hospitals: Using tech, data and connected devices to improve safety, flow and operational performance. Eg AI diagnostics, smart beds/sensors, RTLS, asset tracking, command centre, smart theatres, connected medical devices.
  • Prevention and population health: Moving from reacting to illness to identifying risk and intervention earlier. Eg AI risk prediction, deterioration detection, population health analytics, falls/frailty prevention.
  • Clinical productivity: Giving teams time back and removing repetitive admin work. Eg clinical AI assistants, workflow automation/RPA, automated coding, referral triage.
  • Digital Front Door, access & patient empowerment: Making it easer for patients to access, navigate and participate in their care. Eg digital triage, self-service, appointment management, digital consent, NHS app integration.
  • Winter pressures: Urgent requirement this year to put in place tech that supports patient triage, demand management, navigation, streaming, and redirection.
  • The art of the possible: Organisations whose solutions do not sit neatly within the listed categories are still encouraged to request a place where they can demonstrate relevance to the trust's objectives.

The trust has worked with Highland to identify nearly 100 solution areas for exploration. To maximise value for participants and NHS attendees, showcase places are limited to two suppliers per category.

Demonstrated success across the NHS

The Elevate model has already been delivered with organisations including University Hospitals of Derby and Burton, Bristol NHS Foundation Trust, and Countess of Chester Hospital.

At Derby and Burton, more than 500 NHS employees engaged with participating suppliers during the event. Discussions generated during the showcase have continued through follow-up conversations, helping inform organisational thinking and creating opportunities for future collaboration.
