The Association of British HealthTech Industries (ABHI) has revealed some of the ground-breaking digital health technologies, services and products being launched at the ABHI UK Pavilion at Arab Health 2020, taking place in Dubai from 27 – 30 January.

Attracting over 100,000 attendees annually, the show is now firmly positioned as the Middle East’s largest medical exhibition, presenting significant opportunities for UK companies to connect with buyers and clinicians in the region.

Each year, the ABHI UK Pavilion, organised by the UK’s leading health technology trade association, provides an international launch pad for UK companies wishing to introduce their ground-breaking innovations to the thriving Middle Eastern healthcare market.

The 2020 exhibition sees a range of exciting new products and services, including the first portable neonatal CPAP device specifically designed for low resource settings. Recently shortlisted for an Innovation in Anaesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Award, UK manufacturer Diamedica’s latest innovation provides a small, hands-free respiratory solution for preterm babies, neonates and paediatrics. The life-saving device is uniquely designed for use in challenging locations, including the delivery room, or during transport or power outage.

Joining them on the ABHI stand is British manufacturer Medezine, who will be showcasing their new range of portable, lightweight medical saws at the show. Combining 20 years’ experience with comprehensive market research, the new Medezine range of Cast Removal Saws and Mortuary Autopsy Saws promises enhanced patient and user safety, providing a cost-effective solution tailored to global clinical needs.

Another revolutionary new technology being launched on the ABHI pavilion comes from Cambridge-based manufacturer Cambrionix. Designed to take the pain out of mobile device management, their new modular charging station ModIT provides a fresh, innovative approach for charging, storing and syncing multiple mobile devices at the same time – offering a unique solution for healthcare settings, which can deliver real benefits for physicians and medical staff, as well as practice managers and hospital IT departments.

Vital Innovations meanwhile will be showcasing their award-winning UV steriliser & dryer – designed to dry-disinfect any item without using chemicals, heat, steam or sterilising solution. The vital baby® NURTURE™ pro UV steriliser & dryer uniquely uses ultraviolet LED technology to kill 99.9% of bacteria (commonly found on items, including on bottles and accessories, teethers, toys, and cosmetic products). It can be used in both home and clinical settings, including for parents, paediatric wards and maternity units.

Leading oncology provider GenesisCare will be launching Theranostics to enable access to patients in the Middle East. Theranostics is being hailed as a major step forward in the diagnosis and treatment of mCRPC. The objective is to slow tumour growth, reduce symptoms and improve quality of life. Theranostics combines 2 treatments in one: diagnostic imaging and therapy. The diagnostic approach uses a radioactive tracer (Gallium-68 PSMA) bound to molecules that are specific to receptors found on the surface of cancer cells, enabling detection of metastases using PET/CT. Lutetium-177 PSMA therapy is equally specific and delivers targeted radiation to the same protein receptor. Due to its minimal toxicity most patients can receive multiple cycles of treatment.

Finally, with demands for the vitamin supplement market growing across the globe, UK manufacturer SunVit-D3 Ltd will be launching their unique Calcium chewable tablets to consumers in the region. The product, using a combination of Calcium and Vitamin D3, is primed to meet the demands of consumers in the MENA region, where limited sun exposure due to cultural practices, dark skin colour, very hot climates and decreased calcium content in local diets can have a detrimental impact on bone health. Available in three fruity flavours, the calcium tablets are designed to help with the maintenance of normal bones, teeth and muscle function.

Paul Benton, Managing Director, International, ABHI said: “The UK is leading the way in healthcare innovation, and we are proud to be able to provide an international platform for British companies looking to expand their services to the Middle East. It’s an exciting time for patient-centered and technology-enabled transformation of care.”

Arab Health takes place 27 January – 30 January 2020 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, Dubai, UAE. Throughout the show, ABHI and the UK Pavilion will be located in Hall 2 Hall  stand G30.
