Topic : UK Environment Type : Press Release

The Government has today announced a major new HIV Action Plan, backed by £170 million, to help end new transmissions in England by 2030. The plan expands access to testing, tackles stigma, and introduces the first-ever national programme to reconnect people with life-saving HIV care.

Commenting on the announcement, Ravi Chana, Executive Director, Diagnostics, ABHI, said:
“Diagnostics play a vital role in the early detection and management of HIV, and today’s Action Plan recognises their importance in reaching underserved communities. By expanding access to innovative testing technologies, we can ensure more people receive timely care and improve outcomes across the system. Industry will continue to be a strong partner to the NHS in scaling these innovations and supporting progress towards the 2030 goal.”

ABHI welcomes this renewed focus on prevention, early detection and equitable access to care, essential components in improving health outcomes and tackling inequalities.
