ABHI Hosts UK-KSA Roundtable to Advance HealthTech Collaboration

Topic : News and Press Type : Press Release

As part of ABHI’s growing Middle East Accelerator programme, we were pleased to host a high-level roundtable this July in London, bringing together UK and Saudi stakeholders to explore deeper collaboration across HealthTech innovation, business growth, and healthcare system improvement.

Chaired by Lord Nick Markham, the session welcomed representatives from the Saudi Embassy, Health Holding Co., Saudi British Joint Business Council, UK Government, and leading organisations across both health systems. The event focused on key areas including research and innovation, HealthTech investment, trade, and regulatory alignment.

With the healthcare market in Saudi Arabia undergoing significant transformation, the roundtable emphasised the importance of curating appropriate UK innovations that meet defined system needs in KSA. Discussions also explored how ABHI’s Middle East Accelerator can serve as a bridge to help companies navigate market entry and foster impactful partnerships.

Regulatory cooperation, particularly around AI and digital health technologies, was highlighted as essential to unlocking the full potential of cross-border innovation. Funding emerged as a shared challenge, with calls to explore creative models and joint investment mechanisms to accelerate progress.

As the UK and GCC continue discussions around a Free Trade Agreement, ABHI is maintaining close engagement with the Department for Business and Trade to ensure that programmes like this, and the exceptional capabilities of UK HealthTech companies, are recognised and supported within future trade and economic development plans.

The roundtable concluded with a commitment from ABHI to continue convening key players and nurturing bilateral relationships that strengthen the global HealthTech ecosystem.
