HealthTech regulation plays an essential role in keeping patients safe, and patient safety must always remain the most important priority. However, the negative impact that the delivery of healthcare has on the planet cannot be underestimated. The NHS contributes 4% of the UK’s total greenhouse gas emissions and has committed to reaching Net Zero by 2045. Regulation is a vital enabler to this transition, and there are some immediate steps that the regulator can take to ease this.
In this short paper, we highlight four recommendations to the MHRA.
