James Urie

Sales & Marketing Director, Mediplus

Biography/Career

After graduation from university, where James studied Sports Science and Business Studies, James entered into a career involved in innovation and new technologies. Joining Mediplus in 2004, James has been involved in healthcare for more than 20 years.

As the Sales and Marketing Director at Mediplus James is responsible for delivering the overall global Sales and Marketing strategy as well as the internal and external marketing communications activities of the company. James is also responsible for the day-to-day management of the company's distribution partners in the Americas, Middle East and Australasian markets.

Initially starting as Product Manager, James successfully launched two new innovative Urology products. Both products are marketed throughout the Americas, mainland Europe and Australasia. James has successfully submitted these two products to the NHS Centre for Evidence Based Purchasing Department (CEP), National Horizons Scanning Centre, NHS National Technology Adoption Centre (NTAC), Department of Health Innovative Technology Adoption Procurement Programme (iTAPP). One of them received NICE Guidance in 2016.

Promoted to Marketing Manager in May 2006 and then Sales & Marketing Director in January 2007.

James is also a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Marketing.
