Over 90% of drugs are imported, causing supply chain issues and shortages of essential medications and medical supplies. This affects common drugs, non-communicable disease treatments, and medical equipment.

The private sector is therefore crucial for providing solutions, but faces barriers like limited capital and regulatory hurdles.
