Issue No. 93
12.05.10

Editor's Comment:

The big news of the last 24 hours is, obviously, the change of UK Government.   Following five days of negotiations the Conservative party was able to form a coalition government with the Liberal Democrats.

ABHI had previously met with the Shadow Minister for Trade and Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Clifton-Brown to discuss the Conservative’s plans for UKTI, and will be recommencing talks as soon as the relevant ministerial appointments are announced. ABHI will ensure that the new government is fully aware of the unique demands of our sector and the support required to enable UK medical technology manufacturers to access new markets.

It is quite an eventful week generally for ABHI.  The HCAI Conference took place yesterday, and the next international event, ABHI's International Conference, takes place tomorrow.

Agenda for ABHI's Inaugural International Conference

To register attendance

I have found the ABHI Export Club meetings very rewarding. These meetings provide a platform where fellow exporters outline the challenges faced when exporting, how they confront them and have been successful. I am delighted, therefore, to see that ABHI is to hold an International Conference, consolidating personal exporting experiences with market updates.

The other leading event on ABHI’s calendar is its Annual Conference and Dinner.

17 June 2010
Venue: The Waldorf Hilton, London
ABHI’s Annual Conference and Dinner will take on a new format this year, firstly by being a summer event. The theme of the conference is ‘Post Election - Big Changes in the Healthcare Landscape - what does this mean for Planning your Business. More.
