DENMARK: New
The Danish Healthcare Sector
Overview of the purchasing structure

In 2006, the Danish Government adopted a reform on local and regional government. The reform shaped a new territorial structure for the Danish healthcare sectors, which meant that 14 counties were abolished, and five regions were established. The five regions’ main area of responsibility is the administration and development of each region’s public hospitals and institutions within the social care area.  More

KUWAIT:
Kuwait’s economy is heavily dependent on oil revenue which account for almost 50% of GDP, more than 80% of government revenue and over 90% of export earnings. The Kuwaiti government is keen on reducing the dependence on crude oil revenue, and this objective is manifested in its strategy to increase investments in downstream industries of the oil sector and also through promoting the role of the private sector and privatisation. More

LEBANON:
SIGNIFICANT OPPORTUNITIES IN HEALTHCARE
Lebanon is one of the most dynamic healthcare markets in the Arab region and is full of opportunities for British exporters. More

U.A.E. (DUBAI):
The private sector dominates the healthcare related services market in Dubai, with around 20 hospitals, 20 dental laboratories, 226 optical shops, 387 pharmacies and 62 drugstores. Apart from these, there are numerous medical distributor companies who cater to both the public and the private sector. The major players among these are City Pharmacy, Modern Pharmaceutical Company and Gulf Drug Establishment.

The healthcare sector is heavily reliant on foreign labour with more than 95% being foreign expatriates. More
