Medica 2003: A Repeat Success for the ABHI Group
The Association of British Healthcare Industries (ABHI), the
organisers of the British Pavilion at the world's largest medical
exhibition, Medica, ran yet another outstanding successful
show.
Attendance was up on last year with 134,700 professional
visitors attending over the four days. The 73 companies ABHI took
to MEDICA 2003 was one of the largest delegations to leave the UK,
while over twenty companies were exhibiting with ABHI for the first
time.
MEDICA remains a guarantor for good business contacts providing
a complete market overview of the latest trends and products.
According to Messe Düsseldorf, after four days, a record number of
visitors came to the Rhine and obtained information on the entire
area of outpatient and inpatient care. This was the most successful
result in the 35-year history of the event. The leading
international position of MEDICA is also confirmed by the fact that
more than one third of all professional visitors came from
abroad.
ABHI's Manager of International Business, Lila Webley said:
"The vast majority of the exhibitors reported substantial
leads, which were of high quality and a number of crucial deals,
were secured. I am, therefore, very pleased with this year's
results and will continue to seek more ways to further enhance the
UK presence at Medica".
One of the companies that benefited was Medi-Direct, exhibiting
for the first time. Sales & Marketing Manager at Medi-Direct,
Richard McNair-Chaplin, commented:
"We found Medica 2003 to be a huge success. The level of
visitors to the British stands and specifically to our stand
exceeded our expectations. There were enquiries from many different
countries around the world and the feedback from potential new
customers has been excellent. We would have no hesitation in
joining the team for other trade shows in the future".
The success of MEDICA 2003 for British companies will be
evaluated and followed up early next year with another exhibition
to Arab Health in Dubai. To find out more on joining the British
Group next year, please contact Lila Webley.
