The Age of Innovation
ABHI, in association with BiP and HSA present a special one-day
conference and exhibition for government and industry.
A one-day conference and exhibition, exploring the
potential of developing innovative and imaginative partnerships
between NHS Buyers and Suppliers will be held at Cardiff
International Arena, Cardiff, on Wednesday 2 April.
Hosted by the Association of British Healthcare Industries (ABHI)
and the Healthcare Supplies Association (HAS) and supported by
Business Information Publications (BiP), the conference is looking
at ways to improve the existing relationship and interaction
between these organisations and healthcare procurement officers
through the greater use of inventive, ground breaking alliances, to
ensure the successful implementation of the Government's
Agenda.
The Conference is divided into four sessions, each focusing on a
specific service, followed by a discussion forum, where speakers
will be joined by other representatives from both the public &
private sectors. Topics covered include the procurement of
innovative technologies, risk innovation & clinical governance,
supply chain management and modernisation of the supply chain
process.
Gordon Aylward, Director General at the ABHI said: "The Age of
Innovation conference has been designed to help delegates explore
new ways of working more effectively together with a view to
delivering a more efficient supply chain for increased patient
benefits. Crucially, the conference is the perfect opportunity for
delegates to bring them up to date with the very latest
opportunities in the Healthcare Supply Chain processes and
procurement environment".

Management), Colin Morgan, (Chairman of the ABHI and Managing
Director Ethicon UK), Alan Hardy, (Operations Manager, Smith &
Nephew healthcare), Elizabeth Fotherill, (MD, Penine Healthcare),
Professor Keith Harding, (Chairman Commercial Strategy committee,
University of Wales College of Medicine), Larry Petterson,
(Chairman, Head of Procurement & Commercial Development Cardiff
and Vale NHS Trust), and John Warrington, (Head of Research &
Innovation, NHS Purchasing & Supply Agency).
The conference is aimed at professionals who are interested to
understand & discuss all the latest thinking in healthcare
purchasing and supply strategy innovation and performance.
