1. Editor's Comment:

Space within the ABHI pavilions for our core, international events, Medica and Arab Health, has sold out. If you would like to be added to the waiting list for either event, please e-mail: exhibitions@abhi.org.uk We are trying to get more space from the organisers of both events.

In the meantime, why not consider participation at other global exhibitions, HOSPIMedica Thailand, where ABHI will be taking a pavilion, or Expo Sanita in Bologna, Italy, where ABHI is gauging interest? Both activities are featured below.

5. Egypt; Importation Rules for Sterile Devices

ABHI has been informed by a member company that they have been subject to more stringent importation rules for sterile devices imported into Egypt since the start of the year. Sterilisation certificates have been required for single-use, sterile products being imported into the country for many years, however the company have found that the extent of the information now requested in terms of content and time to collate and maintain the declarations has significantly increased to a level that is impacting their business.

The ABHI is seeking to find whether this is an issue for other exporters. If you are having similar issues please could you contact: theresa.ashford@abhi.org.uk

China Flyer

See: Booking Form.
See: Seminar Agenda.

This seminar focuses specifically on the city of Tianjin, which together with Beijing, Shanghai and Chongqing, is one of only four "provincial level cities" in China - reporting directly to central government.

Now, with creation of the Tianjin Economic and Technology Development Area (TEDA), a state-level development zone, Tianjin's goal is to become a new international centre for modern industry. TEDA is committed to working with foreign companies.

Over 33,000 companies have settled in TEDA since it was inaugurated in 1984, investing a total of USD 15 billion, and those companies have reaped the rewards of choosing TEDA; At 15% over the last five years, TEDA's return on investment is the highest in China.
