Welcome to ABHI’s International E-Newswire Issue no.
19. This issue will mainly focus on Germany, and primarily
MEDICA, although REHACARE*, also features. Both shows will
take place in Düsseldorf, 14-17 November and 3-6 October,
respectively.
The ABHI has organised a national pavilion at MEDICA for more
than ten years, and has a successful track record of doing
so. Space is likely to go quickly. We would, therefore,
urge companies wishing to particpate to sign-up sooner rather than
later, in order to avoid disappointment.

Medica Flyer designed &
produced by Claire Baker
Medica remains the pre-eminent global meeting
for those involved in the business of medical technologies and
services. If you want to understand the industry and meet
partners, there is no better place to be.
John Wilkinson
Director General, ABHI
General Anesthetic Services would like to
thank the ABHI for all of your logistical support during our very
busy and successful Medica 2006. The ABHI staff were always
available to help us with time consuming errands and room
provisions of space to hold private meetings. We found all of the
ABHI staff to be very pleasant and professional. We look forward to
exhibiting this year with ABHI.
Lynne Fisher
Sales Director, General Anesthetic Services
Having made the commitment in both time and
money to participate at an exhibition, the actual preparation and
ultimately your attendance can prove a very daunting prospect,
especially for the novice exporter. This is where the
expertise, local market knowledge and support services offered by
the ABHI, before, during and, in some instances, after the event
can prove invaluable.

Notifcation: DTI Global Watch Service
The DTI Global Watch Service is to close on 31 March 2007.
This pioneering service has proved successful in helping UK
companies find and benefit from overseas technologies.
However, the Government is streamlining and simplifying the support
it provides to UK business and, as a result, from April the main
focus for UK companies and organisations seeking innovation support
will be Knowledge Transfer Networks (KTNs). The KTNs have
been set up by government, industry and academia to facilitate the
transfer of knowledge and experience between industry and the
science base. You will find direct links to specific
technology areas at www.ktnetworks.co.uk.
While the Global Watch Service website will close at the end of
March, much of its content will still be available via the KTN
portal. From this site, you can access and download DTI
Global Watch Mission Report and search the extensive technology
knowledge pool for which the Global Watch Service website was
renowned. Users will also be able to continue to use Active
Knowledge, the real-time knowledge management tool which
automatically brings intelligently-gathered information direct to
their desktop as they work. Please note that any RSS feeds
you have set up as a registered user will also continue to
work.
