2. Update on Personnel at ABHI:ABHI Standards Director retires: Trudy Phelps has retired from her role as ABHI Standards Director. Trudy began working with ABHI in 1991 performing secretariat duties for BSI, and went on to serve as ABHI Technical Director from 1993-95 before taking up her current role as Standards Director. Trudy’s duties involved representing the medical device industry to standards stakeholders (such as BSI, UK Notified Bodies, MHRA and Eucomed). More ... Mike Kreuzer, ABHI Technical and Regulatory Director, paid this tribute: Trudy has made an exceptional contribution to ABHI starting with its formative period in the early nineties. She took the lead with standards management, both in the UK and internationally, providing members with a service which made ABHI unique among European trade associations. She will be greatly missed but members will be pleased to hear that arrangements are in place to ensure that this important activity continues and an announcement will be made next month. Outside of events work, Emma is also a qualified Reflexologist. Emma is delighted to have been appointed, and is looking forward to the challenge of developing the events function at ABHI. |

3. Update on ABHI's Global Export Club:ABHI is officially launching its Monthly Export Club with a Medica focus. Medica is the world’s largest medical trade fair with over 137,000 trade visitors attending the four-day trade show. The event will also discuss the opportunities available in the French and German healthcare markets. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, 17 September from 12am until 2pm, at ABHI’s offices, London.  See: Export Club flyer

9. Commercial Officer Clinics; Nordic and China; September 2008:Attention: Companies in the South East region of the UK
The flyers refer to visits to the South East region by UKTI's Commercial Officer Peter McCoy from Finland, who is Director of the Nordics team, and Barry Nicholson from Shanghai China.
