1. Editor's Comment:

On 11 June ABHI held a small workshop covering the Israeli market. Attendees were able to speak, and pose questions, to the UKTrade & Investment section of the British Embassy, Tel Aviv. Given the positive feedback, this is an activity likely to be repeated by the Association. Perhaps, companies with an on-going, or tentative, interest in Israel would contact theresa.ashford@abhi.org.uk with a view to participating next time.

A future e-newswire will feature the Biomed Conference, recently held in Tel Aviv. This will be covered by Yigal Levine, UKTI’s Tel Aviv-based Commercial Officer responsible for healthcare.

This particular issue includes notification of an inward delegation from Thailand and a South American Export Club as well as 'updated' hyperlinks featuring UK Pavilion exhibitors at both Medica and Arab Health.

For a complete update on ABHI-organised exhibitions please see the Exhibitions Update prepared by ABHI's Exhibitions Executive, Celia Jarvis.

NEXUS / Health Investor

"Nexus and HealthInvestor, the magazine we publish, helped to organise conferences in London in 2007 and 2008 for Israeli companies aiming to enter the UK market. Israel has world-class research and technology which the companies who attended have exploited to develop devices, products and services which, in many cases, are already in use world-wide. It is clear that there are many opportunities for UK companies to be involved as distributors (especially into the NHS), development partners and investors."
